Introduction

We are a long established Practice that moved to 'Hazeldene House' on our present site about 20 years ago. In 1994 there was a major extension of the Surgery to provide new consulting and treating rooms and now 9 years later we are again looking at upgrading the entrance, reception and waiting areas and better utilising the working space that we have for the Doctors, Nurses and visiting health professionals.

On 1st October 2002, with the Secretary of State's approval, we became a Personal Medical Services (PMS) Pilot site which affects the way that we are funded for the NHS work that we undertake and gives us more freedom to develop our services to meet our patients needs.

PMS will enable us to provide you with the full range of health care that you would expect from modern day general practice. Hopefully you are already seeing benefits. Such as computerised appointments, the new patient call system and regular early morning and late evening surgeries. Dr Skilton's additional Friday morning surgery and the comprehensive diabetic service that Dr Burra and Sister Preston are developing.

With the introduction of this website comes still further improvements :-

• You can now order your repeat medication via your computer.
• You can use this website to let us have your comments, good or bad, about the services that we are providing.
• We are using the website to help improve our communications with our teenage patients who can use their computer to seek information and advice and to communicate with us directly.
