Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

If you need to take medication on a regular basis your Doctor may decide to issue you with repeat prescriptions which removes the necessity for you to be seen every time you need a fresh supply of medicine.

48 Hours Notice: We require 2 working days notice to produce your prescription and/or dispense your requirements. There is often confusion about the notice period, in order to clarify our notice period please to view our 'order to collection' timetable.

You can order your medication by:

Using our secure online ordering service.

Telephoning the special order line (01889) 882011 between 9.00am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday.

Putting your order slip in the special box next to the Reception Desk. If the Surgery is closed, please use the external post box next to the Dispensary door.

Writing to us at the address below. If you wish us to post your prescription back to you please enclose a stamped address envelope.

Collecting your Medicine / Prescription

Whether we dispense for you or you use your own chemist, information on how to collect your medicine can be found here.

Important

Please ask if you feel that you do not need a particular tablet and tell us if you suffer any side effects from medication prescribed.

If you require urgent advice, telephone (01889) 881206 at anytime day or night.

Although you may be on repeat medication the Doctors often prescribe tablets, creams etc on a one off basis for acute conditions. The dispensing staff do not have the authority to give you a further supply of one off medication. Your Doctor has to be consulted and may wish to see you before further medication is prescribed.

For your wellbeing and safety the Doctors regularly review patients who are on repeat medication. This may be done when you see your Doctor for a normal consultation, or he/she may speak to you on the telephone. You may be asked to make a special appointment with the Doctor for the review to take place. If the latter applies please arrange to see your Doctor in good time before the medication runs out.
